Canva is an online tool that, in their own words is “Empowering the world to design” – Google think it’s one of the best design tools available – and so do we!
First released on a referral scheme, it changed the way that many bloggers created and managed their images online – suddenly making combining text and images much easier – as well as being able to make social media friendly pictures and infographics. With new updates coming out almost every week, Canva is growing into a tool that we think, every business (and charity, and volunteer, and secondary school age pupil and teacher and ….) should be able to use
Our favourite bit of running these courses is the delight that people find in being able to use Canva themselves to create something they had always thought they would need to pay someone to do. The most frequent feedback is “I’m going home to play on this all day, it’s brilliant!”. Being able to create social media posts, flyers, posters and cards (amongst many other things) quickly and easily has meant that many attendees have been able to increase their marketing efforts and subsequently increase engagement and sales. It really is (and yes we’re biassed but we’re seeing it work) a game changer.
The first of our ‘kitchen table training’ sessions to be launched in 2016, this course lasts about 2 hours, comes with plenty of tea and cake and covers the basics of using Canva. These include how to create an account (if necessary), using templates, uploading your own images, finding and using Canva images, using your own colours and how to share your created images online. We’ll also look at ‘Canva for Business’ and whether it’s worth the investment.
With a maximum of 4 on each course, there will be plenty of time to ask questions, try out techniques and learn how to represent your brand better through imagery – especially on social media. No two courses are the same as we adjust them to meet the needs of those people round the table
Thank you Jenny for today’s Canva Kitchen Table workshop. Love the concept, love the feel and I came away knowing that Canva CAN and WILL do what I need it to do for my business! In a small, friendly group, all our questions are answered and demonstrated. Jenny is a fantastic teacher.
