Over the last few months we’ve been working hard on a new website for the FreeFrom Food Awards. As the project grew from a ‘basic move to WordPress’ to the site with the greatest number of forms and integrations we’ve ever done, we realised that we were getting (even more) emotionally invested in their work, as well as our own.
The entire DigitalJen team all react (negatively) to certain foods – as do our children and other family members. We ‘get’ why food labelling is so important and the difficulties faced when shopping or eating out. So the next question was what could we bring to the ‘party’ (apart from one of Jen’s fine gluten free chocolate brownies…)?
As we added more to the site Jen had an idea. (cue much sighing from Roselle and T). What about sponsoring an award for the Best Digital Presence for a freefrom brand? This could look at the website, the social media, the user experience when purchasing, how the brand inform and educate customers on their freefrom offering and whether, to quote the most used phrase of the entire project, the photos make you want to lick the screen!
We mooted the idea to Awards team and we’re delighted to say that one of the new categories in the 2021 FreeFrom Food Awards is “Best Digital Presence for a freefrom brand” – sponsored by us here at DigitalJen. We are very much looking forward to getting involved with the judging process early next year – hopefully looking at sites from start up businesses to the well established brands in the freefrom arena.
We’re also really looking forward to helping the Awards team find their freefrom hero for 2021. Whether it’s a caring school cook who caters for complex or multiple freefrom diets, a community cafe that provides freefrom food for just one customer, an innovative cook meeting freefrom needs during lockdown, a CEO who has altered manufacture protocols to ensure food safety, an NPD team member who removes unnecessary allergens from a product – or someone who goes above and beyond without even thinking about it – they would love to hear about them. We already have a couple of people in mind for a nomination.
If you’d like to find out more about how we integrated 28 forms, a payment system, 30 merge fields, 27 segments, a staged registration and membership system into 51 pages plus adapting a whole load of photos that make you want to lick the screen and how we could do something similar for you – get in touch
