As well as being a lover of all things Digital, Jen still loves her paper diary and writing with a fountain pen. As we say elsewhere on the site, people do business with people – gone are the days (we believe) of B2B and B2C – it really is P2P (people to people) or H2H (human to human). How do we as people work with other people? We talk, we explain, we show – in essence we tell them the story.
In order to get people to buy what we sell, we have to engage them. Get them to understand what we do and why we do it – and that’s where the story telling part comes in. This isn’t a fairytale – this is you doing what you love and wanting people to spend their money on your projects and/or services. Even if you think you’re in a sector which is all about price – there is still (I promise!) an element of story telling that you can use to promote your business.
This course is held round the DigitalJen kitchen table in St Albans and comes with plenty of tea (and coffee) and homemade cake. It runs for about 2 hours and will only ever have a maximum of 4 people attending.
Jen has been telling business stories throughout her career – from being a marketing assistant way before the internet was invented (and yes, it involved a lot of envelope stuffing but also writing the stuff that went in the envelopes) right up to what she’s doing now creating websites, writing blogs, teaching courses and being a business consultant. She’s been blogging since 2011 and has seen the growth of that sector, the way it’s worked with social media and the way buying behaviour has changed over the years. She’s also been on a fair few courses, been to events and looked at the way that we behave online has evolved (and is evolving).
The session will allow you to tap into Jen’s knowledge, experience and list of useful people to help find a way to tell your business story to increase engagement and hopefully sales. This is why the course is slightly more expensive and only runs a limited number of times per year.
The session is £60 per person – and multiple members of a company are welcome!
2018 Course Dates
Thursday 1st February (9:30-11:30am)
Wednesday 20th June (1-3pm)
Tuesday 20th November (9:30-11:30am)
If you would like a business specific session, please do get in touch – prices start from £350 for a half day. This is what we did for Atlas Translations:
Jenny put together a tailored blogging course for Atlas Translations, which I attended with my team. She had clearly taken time to look at our business and how we were blogging at the time, so that from the start she was able to offer us tips on how we could improve. We found the whole course very informative, delivered at a good pace and easy to follow, and invaluable – we left the course able to plan a new blogging strategy which has led to better blogs and more readers of our blogs!
